Europe trip (4 April-21 April 2013)

New post.... finally! hahaha

It's end of April already and yes, how time flies...
Just returned from my Europe trip (France and London) and yes, it was a blast!
These 2+ weeks made me stop thinking about the things in S'pore (like work or uni applications)
I guess everything is in God's hands and really, what done has been done.

Paris was definately an awesome experience, with 6degrees of coldness on the first day.
My best take-away is seeing the eiffel towel & also the food there (Baguette everywhere!!!!)
OH yes we saw a protest (fighting for their rights in salary etc) and also the Paris 2013 marathon!
Went to another part of France, Bordeaux, and spent 2 days away from the city. Stayed in a cottagehouse at the vineyards and yes, that is really life where you can just chillax and run aimlessly w/o sweating!
Third place in France that we went is a place called Lille. Took the Eurostar and stayed thr for 1 day before proceeding to LONDON. yes london :)

In total, I spent 7 days at London and stayed at Norma's house which has 3 dogs. Alright, my "walk-the-dogs-at-night" picture on Instagram apparently has the most likes so far for my profile. HAHA. Museums after museums, food after food and the best is definately getting to see Billy elliot the musical! That is my first musical that I have watched in my entire life, and more to come!!! Shopping at Primark is a MUST when you're at UK. Marks & Spencer is also another must!!! (Buying Kinder Surprise too hehe)
The usual tourist sites are the London eye, Big Ben clock, the Cathedrals and museums!

The stuff there overall is so much more expensive than Singapore (DUH). Like the MacDonald's so much more expensive and the necessities like water/food/transport is more ex! Other than that, museums are free except the Lourve Museum in Paris. There are many markets(Something like flea markets in SG) and we went to a few!  And the most cheapskate thing at Paris is the FREE TOURS that you can pay-as-what-you-want! Like what my sister's mantra is, we all should be cheapskate travellers.

Greatest regret? Not going to "Singing in the rain" musical and also waking up early to see Margaret Thatcher's funeral ceremony.

anyway, Emirates is really a good flight haha i have yet to take Singapore airlines yet though :(
The food served in Emirates is really good. And good movies on flight too.

Overall, this is the best trip before I turn 20 :)

P/s- just follow me on instagram @claratanzien to view some of the pics. I'm really lazy to upload on facebook or here. hehe
